A Less than Elegant Tea Dress

I was feeling a little Victorian-ish today since I got invited to tea, so I picked the only floral dress I own. I really can't pull off the ethereal, lady-like, delicate look, so I went for my black tights and red bow flats. I don't really know how I feel about this dress. I purchased it a while back just because everyone had one. You know what I'm talking about! Those tee/skirt combos that popped up everywhere. It fits fine, but the waist sits too high and the neckline is too low for my taste. But I really do love the rose pattern on the skirt. We'll see how I feel after a couple more wears.


It's warming up really quick here, so I don't feel too crazy wearing flats. It's still cold, though, so I put on my heavy tights.


The heart locket I'm wearing is... empty. I've never been one to wear photos. Not in lockets, not in charms, not in handbags. But I do like wearing Hello Kitty. The headband I'm wearing is a crocheted Hello Kitty one that I got on [super] sale three or so years ago. I believe it's an exclusive Japan item, so I still paid something like $15 for it even though it was marked down. Ah well, we all have our vices.

Tea today was delightful. My friend made a carrot cake of which I had a teensy slice, and I tasted [and orgasmed over] my first ever STROOPWAFEL.

Oh man, I can compose epics about this gorgeous morsel of earthly pleasure. Its neat and crisp shell encases a sweet (not cloying!) and succulent cascade of flavors that simultaneously satisfies and intensifies a longing for more.
