That song popped in my head when I donned this outfit. (whichever version, I like both Fleetwood Mac's and Santana's versions... maybe the latter more for when I want to twirl around to the long instrumental solo.) Now, it's stuck there forever.
I usually avoid really long skirts/dresses because I am barely 5 feet tall. I like to think I'm 5'1", but I'm a quarter of an inch short of that. My height is probably the main reason why I gravitate towards higher hemlines because of the illusion of extra length they give. But I like this skirt, and I think I look taller wearing it with a tight-fitting tank. I also liked the fact that I look kinda witchy today, with all the black, the messy reddish hair and the snake necklace. I mean, the snake is symbolic of womanhood and fertility, after all.
p.s. I changed the background and header of my blog (again). What can I say? It's sunnier and brighter outside--my blog needed to reflect the bliss blossoming inside my sunshine-starved heart.

This outfit is smokin! Love the skirt, the length of it and those amazing shoes, oh and the snake necklace!!
ReplyDeleteLiking the new blog design too!

I LOVE maxis, it looks AMAZING! And I totally had that belt in high school but it has lost in one of many moves :(

You look really great, love the necklace!
ReplyDeleteThat necklace is so cool! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI also love the new background/header. Lookin' good:)
I never would have guessed that you're only five feet tall judging by these pictures!
ReplyDeleteI usually avoid long hemlines as well, because despite the fact that I'm 5"8, skirts that fit me are always too long in length as I have weirdly short legs. Go figure!
i like your new background and header. and cute look.
ReplyDeleteI love the new design...and this look. You totally look witchy and not at all short - seriously love it!

What an elegant black ensemble! I'm 5'2'' and trying on a full length skirt or dress would be quite daunting!

I know what you mean, I'm barely 5'0 too! Usually, the higher the hemline, the taller I look. I've been kind of scared of the maxi trend but I think you have it right by keeping it monochromatic. Now I just need to be a litttle bolder... :D

Short gals can still wear maxis and you're certainly proving that to be true! I can't wait to break out my own stash.
ReplyDeleteYep, Santana's Black Magic Woman is now stuck in my head. Ah. I don't mind, though!
The new layout looks good. I especially like the little whale in your header.
i think the long looks great on your petite frame! i like the outfit, and i have that same necklace :)
ReplyDeleteI got a gypsy feel from this cute outfit! The long skirt looks really good on you! :) & I am loving the new layout, it's so adorable!
ReplyDeleteI Love this look! I have been hooked on long skirts lately. I must buy more!
ReplyDeleteThis long dress doesn't make you look short at all! Fab! And I really enjoy your new blog look. It reminds me of The Science of Sleep
ReplyDeleteI think you look fab in this dress, you really do! BUT it's lacking a little bit of hello kitty!
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit♥ I like this very much!
