Yesterday, I started looking for jobs online in anticipation of my graduation this coming May. Yes, it's tough finding a job that I would love to do for the rest of my life. Yes, it's ridiculous how no one is hiring right now. But you know what hit me with the most impact? The fact that I will probably have to wear work-appropriate clothes from now on. (I'm not sure what that entails, but just in case, I'm preparing myself now)
I still don't know what kind of job I'll land. I'm hoping it's something laid back where I can still wear most of the stuff I have in my closet. But this realization, nonetheless, inspired my outfit choice this morning... and will probably continue to do so for the rest of the semester.
For the longest time, I used to dress in mismatched, loud, child-themed outfits. Though I've given away most of my stuff, I still have a lot of articles left--hence the Hello Kitty paraphernalia you see every once in a while (ok, more like, EVERY post). I'll wear these remnants proudly before I enter adulthood (confirmed by getting a job and acting like a responsible human)

| RAWR. Because that's how I truly feel about getting a job. |

I love the red stripes!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the job search! I hope you find something fabulous:)
I love your hair this way! And can this tee be any cuter! I say wear all your stuff now before it's time to wear the stuffy tall people clothes! :)
ReplyDeleteI Love this look! I have that same HK top.
ReplyDeleteSo cute Laura!
ReplyDeleteBesos,
Denise

ReplyDeleteI'm hoping you're able to find a job with a relax dress code! My dress code at work isn't too bad so I''m grateful. Although, I know other friends have jobs where they can literally wear ANYTHING they want, which is pretty darn cool!

Damn work appropriate clothes...although that cardi is totally work appropriate (and awesome!).

Good luck finding a job, my dear! Job searching is stressful so I'll be thinking of you. I really love that cardigan.
ReplyDeleteI love your HK top. Enjoy your freedom while it lasts! Being a responsible adult is so overrated.

Heh. I just changed my major... So I still have a while in school. It's so funny. Being part of the normal working world seems so far off. But then again, so did the end of highschool back in the day. I actually sort of had some issues getting dressed this morning because I had a 40% of my grade Architecture history presentation. It's hard to gauge what's appropriate and what's just stupidly overdressed.
ReplyDeleteLove the pop of red in the cardigan! :)
oh, wow.. I am in the exact same position right now! Dreading going back to work :( I wish you luck gorgeous x
ReplyDeleteBAHAHAHA cute last pic;) and dont worry work appropriate clothes isnt horrible hahah
ReplyDeleteOffice wear sucks compared to HK gear! I love that your glasses and hair kind of match Hello Kitty's glasses and ears! So cute.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll find a great job ! This outfit is lovely, I love your hairstyle !

You're too cute! You remind me of one of those people that come to our hotel every year for the Animaefest (spelling)! They dress up like Asian comic book characters and have a huge convention! Some of the outfits are amazing and they are some of the most intelligent people you will ever meet! Kiah
ReplyDeleteI definitely have started dressing a lot more conservatively since I began working full time after I graduated. I think you can wear work appropriate clothes and still keep you cuteness!
ReplyDeleteThat shirt is so cute! And good luck job hunting, I know it's gonna be a huge shock for me too when I have to dress professionally EVERY single day.
ReplyDeleteShopping and Spreadsheets
Your hair is really cute!
ReplyDeleteHopefully you'll land a job with a lax dress code. Or at least one that's ''business-casual.'' If not, there's always the weekends! I really like all the fun layering going on in this outfit :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute outfit! I love your hello kitty shirt. I like you blog a lot. I'm now following you on here and Twitter!
ReplyDeleteI like the cardigan A LOT! Aaaaaaand that face in your last picture, Laura... AHAHAH!
ReplyDeletehello adorable, miss you!

Hi Laura! I wish and dread for that day where I look for a full-time job/career! Good luck in your search... hope your final thesis is coming together! :) p.s. I need to search for that superman tee!! <3
ReplyDeleteI love the last photo! I'm also worried about having to wear work appropriate clothes when getting a job because work appropriate clothes are normally super boring! I love expressing myself through clothes, it's just fun. Hopefully you get an amazing job and am still able to dress fun! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your hair, you look awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I still have a lot of childish clothes e.g. Hello Kitty Tees in my wardrobe; I can't seem to stop myself buying them hehe.

Addie
