| grey dress: Target :: pink top: Elle/ Kohls :: cardi: Old Navy necklace, bracelet (necklace): Icing :: kitten heels: Madden Girl |

... I go for what I call subtle elegance. I wore this look to present a paper in a conference this morning. I chose this grey dress because of the ruffly tulle skirt, but I thought I needed to add some color and interest to the dress, hence the pink top. The neckline is a bit low, so some of the grey dress was peeking out, which kept the look modest. And this blazer-style cardi is my new favorite layering piece! It has everything that a cardigan can offer, but with more structure.

Also, I've decided to order the Sinclair in Burgundy Fade glasses from Warby Parker. Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions!
Now, it's time to get comfy and enjoy the rest of the night. Happy Saturday, everyone!

Perfect conference attire! And yay, you got the Sinclairs - they look really good.

ReplyDeleteI saw that dress at Target and passed it up because I didn't know how to wear it. Now I'm totally regretting it because I love this layered look with the lace on top peeking out and the tulle on the bottom.

I love spending Saturday's relaxing. The promise of a Sunday on the horizon, and sweet dreaming makes for my favorite day of the week. You're lovely in glasses btw x

ReplyDeleteI believe this is the frame that I liked most when you last posted. I think they look great and Warby Parker always has such nice ones. I love how you've used this dress to give the effect of a skirt. The ruffles on the bottom make it super sassy! And I like your pearls! :)

ReplyDeleteSo, I'm really happy that you picked those--they were my favorite :) And you've also inspired me to do the try-five-thing. I always meant to buy another pair of glasses, but sort of dropped it. But for less than $100?? Tell me how it goes :) I'll be in the process of home try on.

That cardigan is great! I couldn't figure out at first if it was a blazer or a cardigan--I guess it was both. Layering a top over a dress and then a cardi over all that is something I wouldn't normally do... You've given me an idea, though. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh and thanks for stopping by my blog! :)
Simple yet chic outfit ;)
