When Bloggers Meet

I am officially NOT a virgin anymore... a blogger-meetup virgin that is! Ok, that was bad, I know. But let's just let that slide since it's Friday.

When I was in Seattle, I got the most awesome opportunity to meet the lovely and intrepid shoe-lover Emma from Fancy Bella, who brought along her funny husband and her adorable boy! (I miss you, Yoshi. Like seriously, I would baby-sit you if I could). These two are the only pictures I got, so if you wanna see more, please head on over to Emma's blog!

I had such a fun time talking (for hours) about everything under the sun. It was funny that even though we're fashion bloggers, we talked minimally about clothing or shoes or whatnots. Emma is super sweet, hilarious, and adorable gal ever! I swear, if I lived in Seattle, I would be chilling with her all the time. And yes, we both are Hello Kitty obsessed. She's probably more obsessed that I am! hahaha. :)

Having such a great time meeting a fellow blogger has got me thinking about my blog too. When I started blogging a few months back, I wanted to find a creative outlet and a distraction from my thesis writing. Albeit slowly, I got to meet people (online) through comment correspondences and emails, for whom I've developed admiration, awe, and (dare I say?) friendships with. On the one hand, it's nice to bond over fashion and keep the bonding online.Goodness knows I have real friends with whom I only talk to online these days, and that works out fine. However, it was so nice to see through blogs people are able to find others willing to invest time to meet and form real-life friendships!

Tell me about your blogger meet-up experiences!

  1. I would love to have a blogger meet-up. I have said this about 2342934 times before, but I feel like I know all of my blogger friends personally, and I feel like some of them know me better than people who I talk to in person every day. I never expected to become such great friends with fellow bloggers, and that was not my goal of starting a blog. Like you, I wanted a distraction from academic work. I love that my blog has turned into such a forum for me and my friends. :)

  4. It's so great to meet people who you've gotten to know through their blogs. I've been to one Michigan blogger meet-up and it was crazy seeing people out in the real world whom I had gotten to know through their photos and fashion. Crazy in a great way!

  10. I know what you mean!

When I started my blog, I never dreamed of the beautiful and kind people that I can now count as friends.

To be able to follow their thoughts and lives, and to connect through shared interest and to show concern despite being online friends... It's just the most amazing thing.

If you lived near me, I would definitely meet you and give you a hug. You are such a sweetie. ♥

  13. Oh I love Emma's blog- and yours too, Laura! Wish Cath and I could have met up with the two of you in Seattle. We just met up with Mae Lu from thereafterish a few weeks ago (she's from Detroit, but down in Decatur, GA for a wedding) - sooo fun! And we didn't talk about clothes much- unless you include shoes ;)

  15. Awe this is so sweet! I am so glad that you actually got to meet one of your blog buddies! The fabulous blogger Kileen of Cute & Little formed a website for DFW (Dallas/Ft. Worth) area bloggers to register their blogs. We have a monthly blogger meet-up. It was an amazing idea and it is so fun to meet other bloggers and get advise and ideas from the more seasoned ones. At each meeting we assign another blogger to plan the next meet up. We usually meet up for brunch or lunch and then at some retailer for shopping at a discount that the meeting planner has already arranged with the store manager for us bloggers. SUPER FUN!! Kiah

  24. How fun! I'd love to have a blogger meet-up but I always feel like I'm somewhat isolated living in New Mexico. I know ones close to me are out there though!
