cape: c/o eShakti :: dress: Forever 21:: shoes: Payless:: purse: Laura Ashley
*This cape was sent to me for review by eShakti, but all opinions are my own.*

I was so thrilled to be asked by eShakti to review a product from their vast array of beautiful clothing. I have a little bit over 2 months left before the end of my challenge, and my closet has been shrinking quite drastically. I'd been writing up a list of things I wanted to buy after the challenge was over and a cape was one of those items that I knew I just needed to have. So I lunged at this opportunity and chose this beautiful "On Stranger Tides" cape to add to my closet.

If you didn't already know, eShakti allows customization of all their items for better fit, which means you can change anything from the neckline to the sleeve and hem length. They also offer a full-size selection from sizes 0-26W.

Measuring is simple because they have illustrated guides that show you how and where to run the tape measure to get the most accurate readings. I chose to get this cape in a 14L because my measurements matched the sizing perfectly, but put in my height (5'1") to make sure the sleeves and item length were taken into consideration. My cape came in 6 days after I placed the order.

PROS:
1. the quality of the product is superb. The stitching is clean, the colors are bright, and the fabric used is soft and very comfortable.
2. the length is perfect on me. I'm very short, so I was thrilled when the cape didn't swallow me in fabric.
3. ordering was very easy. The measuring guides were very helpful.
4. shipping was very fast. The cape came in folded very neatly in a waterproof packaging.

CONS:
1. I usually wear a 12L but my measurements matched the 14L category, so I ordered that instead. The cape is a tad roomier than I expected, especially in the waist area.

I am so glad I got to sample eShakti. I am looking forward to getting more pieces from them when I can finally start shopping again. These are the pieces I'd love to get my hands on!

Have you tried eShakti?

  2. Your cape is awesome! It kind of has a little bit of a nautical feel to it. We did an eShakti review too and other than the broken zipper, we were really pleased.

  4. OOOoooohh! I love the color of the cape!!!! Plus the shoes you wore with them are so cute! I like that its all flowy and comfortable! I wish we had a place that does the same thing. There isnt a big range of sizes here in the philippines most of them are just too small sometimes :p. Oh my goodness Laura! Two months??? You're so close to the finish line! I cant believe it!

  5. That cape is insane! I love it so much! I will most def have to try eShakti. I've heard of it but never tried. Thank you for the great review. So awesome that they offer the measurement guide. You look perfect and the items on your wish list are super cute! I just thrifted a poncho/cape thingy majig but it is 100% wool so it will have to get much cooler before I am able to wear it. Kiah

  6. The cape is awesome, I've never worn one before but it looks so comfy!

I've only bought one item (a dress) from eShakti and I do like it, though found it to be a bit on the big side as well. I ordered my normal size (as their measurements basically matched mine) and the bust is HUGE (and I'm not a poorly endowed girl) I came up with a plan to make it wearable, though, and have been enjoying it since

  18. Love the cape, Laura! The colour is nice and the length really suits you. And I love how you styled it! Your red peep toes caught my eye instantly!

It's lovely that they offer customization with your purchases. It's rare to have that sort of service from clothing companies.

G'luck with the remainder of your wardrobe challenge! I'd love to get my hands on that black and white polka 2-piece dress as well.

    Cheers,

  23. You look so cute in that cape! I absolutely love eShakti. They change their inventory so often that there's always something I desperately want. I'm eyeing the umbrella dress right now. I have a coupon and an extra 10% off, so I may cave and order it.

  39. I think the cape looks absolutely beautiful on you. There's something about capes that's so romantic and glamorous. I want a nice wool number but unfortunately, the well-made ones are so expensive.

I can't believe eShakti has customization! I'm a few millimeters shy from 5'3'' so I can never get the hang of dress/skirt lengths. The models are always so deceiving.

  51. I haven't tried them yet. I have heard about them a ton though. I can't justify paying a ton when there are clothes in forever 21 that fit me just fine. ...Pants, on the other hand, is a completely different story.

Also, you look AMAZING in that cape. I think a cape is weird enough that you really need to work the cape to look good and you do.
