Spring came early this year, it seems, as I felt compelled to purge my closet this weekend. I spent a few hours sifting through piles of clothing and pushed myself to actually make up an organization system so I could actually get to wear everything I own. I ended up buying a rack and quite a few hangers, but I also ended up donating two ginormous bags.
I didn't even know I owned this cream-colored lace top. Now that it's on constant display on the rack, I want to wear it every single day.
How do you organize your closet?
ps. I am super stoked to be getting some fake tattoos from Fake Tattoos in the mail soon :) Do check their site out for some lovely body art without the commitment. They're offering free worldwide shipping all February!
I am so proud of myself for cleaning out my closet a few weeks ago - it was a big job but I am so glad it got done. I didn't really find any treasures like that top of yours though...
I'm glad that you brought your cream color lacy blouse for a walk...it is so pretty! , I like the puffed up sleeves, very victorian chic. You look gorgeous Laura, and this is one of my favorite outfits on you!
Love your nail polish colour!!! I have my closet organized pretty well, cause I'm totally OCD that way :P I have all my dresses/skirts on white hangers and all my tops on black hangers, both on opposite sides of the closet. I have dresses arranged by colour from black to bright, and skirts the same way. My tops are divided up by style (sweater vs. shirt) and then by sleeve length, but also arranged in those categories by colour.
Organize.....my.....closet??!??! Surely this is some sort of trick question or alien concept. That would take all the fun out of getting ready in the mornings. Nothing like trying to find something to wear, under a limited time frame, and not knowing where anything is. I am loving that cream lace top. I have a long sleeved one that I wear layered with tons of things. You've done it gorgeously. Those red shoes are the exclamation point to the whole thing.
I was looking through my closet this weekend as well and discovered some items..you'll see the post later this week. Love this outfit, and I scrolled down, sorry I've not been by in a few days. Similarly to you, I've not gone to the movies in ages, but not because it's full of teens, in Chicago it's just $$$ $10 to see a movie? I can get it at redbox in a few months....$1 yup I am a cheapo..haha.
I always put off sorting my closet but it feels so much better when it's done.. especially when you rediscover items you forgot you had! Love the lace top, it looks gorgeous with the belt! :)
Oh, the lace is so pretty!! My closet organization is non-existent. =/ But there must have been something in the air, because I spent a little bit of time yesterday hanging up some shirts that were in a pile on my closet floor. lol I had grand plans to organize my entire closet, but before I coudl get to the pants and jeans section, my kids came in and wanted momma to play with them . . . so I happily left the closet behind. Maybe I'll get around to it next weekend. =)
That top is so pretty! That tattoo site looks so interesting! As an inked girl I could see me using this to starve off the cravings when I can't afford a real one or testing out an idea!
Organize my closet?! I used to but now I just have too much stuff and it's turned into closet'(s) lol Maybe one day I'll break it all down and get it stuffed into one but that probably wont be anytime soon ;) I'm super interested to see these Fake Tattoo's I checked out their site and they have some pretty awesome designs. I have two real tattoos myself atm but I've been wanting to get more this could be a great way to try out the space I want to get inked before actually committing to it! -Ash
Your lace top is so pretty, Laura! Look at those sleeves. Love 'em.
My closet is fairly organized (blouses > dresses > skirts > pants > coats), but my only trouble with it is actually getting my things back in there after wearing and washing them. I am constantly surrounded by piles of clothing (which makes it very difficult to remember what I own!).
cute top! i have the same studded bangle too. my closet is color coded and all seasons are in there. i don't discriminate, haha. well i don't wear many sweaters in the summer, but there's no reason to put them away. at least i don't think there is!
How I organize my closet... er... It's getting there? :D
That outfit of yours is fabulous, Laura! I love it! And about those fake tattoos... I'm kinda on the fence with them, as I prefer the real deal in everything - except fur. But they sure are fun thing to play around when thinking of getting a real one, I guess. :) xoxo ♥
i am a HUGE fan of your bracelets girl!! i have a section for dresses, a section for blouses, cardigans, and blazers, shelves for sweaters, shelves for pants/jeans, a dresser for intimates and socks and t-shirts, and another section for coats... yea i wish i had more room still haha!!
Beautiful outfit Laura! Gawd, I have to tackle my closet and soon girl. I'll probably do that this week, since I have some time. I try to put outfits together on hangers so they don't take up much space. Thank you so much for your birthday wishes!!! :D http://www.averysweetblog.com/
what a gorgeous top. I also cleaned my closet this weekend so prepare for our FL trip in 2 weeks. I didn't throw anything out as I tend to be a hoarder but did add to it ;)
you just reminded me of a lace top that i have and haven't worn in a long time. i'm in constant battle with my closet. i wish i had room for a few free-standing racks...not only do i like the "lofty" open feeling, but you do get to see all of your clothes!!
Laura, is that snow I see in your neck of the woods? Ah, you do cream and black so beautifully! That last photo of you is amazing! Please post pictures of the fake tattoos. I'm intrigued! :)

I definitely need to do a purging of the closet, as well. Maybe over Spring Break? I say that, but it won't happen.
