That's How I Crop

SDC10990SDC10995SDC10997SDC11001SDC10992

I hit a speed bump with styling this cropped-ish jumper. I don't usually don cropped tops, but I really loved how soft and smooth this jumper was, and of course, the color reminds me of mermaids and that clean feeling in your mouth after downing a whole container of tictacs. Not that I've done that before.

Anyway, being super short-waisted, I scrunched the bottom of the sweater up as much as I could to create a slouchy, relaxed look. Paired with some romantic accessories and a not-so-romantic pair of booties, and voila-- Laura outfit.

How do you crop?

  2. Crop actually works pretty well on me - sits well on my wait line and longer tops makes look shorter lol. You did a great job and I like the colour of your top a lot ! Looks similar to the one I picked up from the Gmarket! I saw the exact same bracelet at forever21! Love how you worked it - thanks for inspiring!!

  10. I wish I could wear cropped tops but I have no idea what to do with them. So, erm, fail for me! I do love the color of your sweater, though! Minty green, yay!

  11. Cropped tops make me look strange. I think you pulled it off elegantly :) Especially with the pretty color. Aren't you cold? It looks like it's snowing there :p

  12. I have a bit of a thing for the old cropped jumper. To be fair all my jumpers are cropped, or got stunk enough in the washer to be so!

  16. I almost bought an adorable cropped apple-theme top at H&M last weekend, but put it back when Matt goes, "Is that for children??? Why is is so small?" What I WAS going to pair it with, though, would be a high-waisted pencil skirt.

  25. oh, i LOVE this minty color!!! i want to find something minty and lilac for spring! post minis, i try to stay as far away possible from cropped tops, lol. but i do love them, so i wear them with high waisted bottoms or layer them over another top.

  26. Very cute! I especially love the bracelets! I am extremely pear shaped so I should veer away from them, but I can't help but love crops!

  27. I love the colour of the cropped jumper, perfect for spring! :) Cropped tops seem to sit oddly on me, I think I'm too short for them but maybe I'm yet to find the right one! I love your bow bracelet! Is it Kate Spade?

  30. I love the color of the cropped jumper and the romantic accessories! I'm not a fan of cropped tops since I think they make me look shorter, but I have to say this one looks pretty and comfy! :)

  33. You look so cute. I love this mint color especially with the black. I'm not generally a crop-top girl (mostly cuz I'm short though) but I like this combo, scrunching the bottom up a little was a good idea.

  34. I like this relaxed outfit, and it has a preppy chic school girl look too. I like cropped tops too but of course I always layer it for modesty. I like the green with black combo. The knee high tights creates a kawii style. Cute accessories too!

  38. You brave brave girl. I saw the snow in the pics and I got cold for you. Brilliant outfit though! If I were going to make it more snow friendly, I'd add wool tights with wool over the knee socks, and maybe some knee high boots if you have them. heheheh I'm a big lover of wool for cold weather. The color of that jumper is totally worth the suffering. ;)

  40. minty-seafoam green is one of my favorite colors, so naturally i love this jumper. and this whole outfit, really. it'd also look great with flats or sandals in the spring when booties aren't necessary to combat the snowy ground :D

as for crop tops, i usually buy them a size bigger so they look more slouchy than cropped.
