I do love menswear feminized. If I could, I would wear a variation of this outfit every single day. After putting this outfit together, I stepped into the kitchen to my husband eating his breaky, and he blurted that I looked like a "banker from the Wild West" or an "accountant from the 20s."

Whatever. It works for me.

Earlier today, it struck me that I would have less than 3 years before I turned 30. So I hastily scrambled up a 30 before 30 list. I wrote out 3 goals, then got all frazzled. Have any of you made similar lists? Care to share  goals on your lists?

  2. Peach is pretty on you. Your husband sounds like a hoot.

  3. The vest looks great layered over the peach top, such a gorgeous colour! The list sounds fun, I wouldn't know what to put on it!

  4. I love this look too, Laura! And the foxy clip! That's how I want to wear mine -- now I just need to find a vest.
30 Before 30 -- hooo boy. Just the other day Matt and I looked at each and were like "#$%*, we're turning 29 this year." We can't decide what to do. Pretend it's not happening or run away for three months next year and do a 30-extravaganza thing? We might walk across India (his suggestion, not mine). I do love making lists, but I rarely stick to them.

p.s. When (hehe) you and your husbo move to Edinburgh, there will be roughly 6 H&Ms within walking distance no matter where you are in the city. There are two that are literally a block away from each other. Madness!

  7. I likely that pink top lots. I keep meaning to buy my boy a pocket watch but I might save it for his all important 30s birthday but that's three years away. Oh the decisions!

  8. You look exceptionally pretty in that second shot. I don't know what it is.

I also enjoy menswear. Wish I had more of it. This is TOTALLY my type of look. And, I consider looking like a banker from the wild west a good thing.

My on-again/off-again boyfriend turns 30 next year. Heheheheehe. I imagine once it's over with and it has passed, it won't feel any different than 29. And you're still a ways out!

  9. I've been seeing more lists like this posted throughout the blogosphere. I don't do lists ahead of time, but look back to see what I've actually accomplished by certain ages (I actually posted about something similar the other day!). I hope you put lots of fun goals on your list :)

  10. I love your fox pin! He is so cute!

Well, I turned 30 a couple of months ago, so I can say that so far, it isn't so bad. If that helps at all. I didn't make a goal list. I was going to do one and then just wasn't motivated enough. Kudos to you!

  11. The idea of making such a list only occurred to me when I was 31 and then it was just too depressing to dwell on that fact that I was, indeed, that old. So I never made it! Also, you do look like an accountant from the 20s and that is awesome! Love this outfit on you.

  12. Wild west banker is a good look! I also turn 30 in about 3 years, and every time I try to list goals to accomplish before that point, my mind kind of freezes up. Everything I think of seems uninspired. I suppose I'd like to see Australia. Or somewhere with a jungle. Sky diving?

  13. I turn 30 in about 3 months. Lists have been made and I have to say, I probably won't acheive them all by the time I'm 30 but I'm well on my way!

    Love your outfit! Understated sexy!

  15. That lipstick looks great on you :D

I like this outfit - totally cute! I like feminized menswear too, but I'm not really sure how to pull it off :/ And good luck with the goals! I always fail at making those kinds of lists ._.

  17. It's funny that you mentioned the 30 things list because my BFF who is also your age emailed me the glamour 30 things you should know, do, have by 30. As a long time subscriber to that magazine I read the article earlier this month. So I agree...other's not so much. #1 thing..an ex you would go back to...I am sorry exes are exes for a reason...they're X'ed out of your life. Don't worry about the list... :)

  18. Your little fox pin is wicked cute. I do love the menswear look on ladies. Its such a fun look. I will turn 30 in two years (yikes) and havent done a goal list yet but I really do need to get on it.

  19. I love menswear one of my favorite things to wear. I don't have a 30 before 30 list or any lists. If I make a list I usually end up forgetting/not doing half of the things I put on it so going forward listless I will be ;) Not having a list isn't so bad and 30 is not old when your 90 you can say your old :)

  20. Laura, obviously your hubs doesn't know what he's talking about because you look spectacular! I'm certain many "accountants from the 20's" would have given an eye and a tooth to look half as good as you do! Goals? Hmmm...how about retiring to live in the Tuscan Region before I croak? :)

  21. I have something similar like your vest! I love menswear inspired clothing for women. There's always a sort of sophistication in it that I can't explain. I love the look overall :) You look sweet!

  22. Bankers from the wild west and accountants in the 20s dressed the best, I suppose :D

  23. I made a list for things to do before I turn 45. Didn't work out that well haha!
    LOVE the vest a lot!

  25. Love this look, that vest is adorable on you.

  26. I like a tailored vest on a lady. I always think about making one of those lists, but never actually do it.

  27. If the wild west were like your outfit, perhaps I would enjoy western-themed movies more. Matt likes them a lot, but not me. Not at all.

I'm in the same boat as you, less than 3 years until 30. I only have one real goal which is to be at a job I enjoy rather than one I stay at to pay the bills. It's a pretty lofty goal, so I pared my 30 by 30 down to 1 by 30, lol.

  28. Oh my! well...before I turned 30....a LONG TIME AGO...like Ages...lol
I just went along with it..I knew that if I made a list..and didn't get to accomplish some of it...guilt would come..so I said EFF IT..and went along with whatever life takes me...I did get engaged before 30- that was one thing I wanted hah

  32. I love it!! The vest nips in your waist! I'm going to have to try something like this! First things first, I need to get myself a vest! Time to shop, I guess. =)

  33. Love menswear as well! You look adorable and I love your fox pin!

  34. this outfit is really super feminine, and this pin - oh my, how CUTE it is! ♥

  35. This outfit is fantastic, and dare I say, sexy? I love the fox pin and those adorable shoes :) Travel as much as possible, that was a goal of mine before (and now after) 30!

  36. I love this outfit! It's super cute, as are those shoes. If this is what a banker from the wild west looks like - Sign me up Baby! Hmmm, I haven't done a list like that but it makes good sense. I think the first things that come to mind are to travel to at least 2 European locations outside of England this year.

  37. I like this look, how can one go wrong with a pocket watch? I would pull the pocket watch out like James Bond and loudly recount the time for all to hear, I really would. I should make a 30 before 30 list, I usually make lists for everything and have yet to do that one. I adore those cat eye glasses btw!

  38. You have a pocket watch. That is awesome. Even if it is borrowed. Seriously, I want a three piece suit so bad, but I think I'd settle for a vest like this, too.

  39. the peach just makes it oh so feminine! And I just LOVE those glasses! I am usually THE list maker...always makin lists, but I never did make one of these types of lists....I may have to out some thought into one.

  41. I love menswear. I like dressing like a boy. I can totally relate cause I turned 25 last year and I've sort of made a bucket list. Didn't get to finish them all but I got what I wanted. Even more. I traveled with the boy across Northern Luzon. Wanted to do backpacking and I was not alone. Gash. Me so cheesy. XD
