Holy Snakeskin, Batman

I haven't been able to get snakeskin out of my head since I saw Bessie's and  Alex's snakeskin print dresses a few months back. So when I finally got to an H&M, I scoured it up and down for one. I actually DID find the dress, but it just didn't work as well as I thought it would. I left the store snakeskin-less and very sad-faced. 

Fast forward months later to a ridiculously stressful day. I had decided to go thrifting after a long day at work and decided to pop on over to Goodwill, which I never really go to because I had (up until that point) never found anything to my liking. After minutes of hanger-gliding, I spied, from the corner of my eye, a tauntingly familiar print. SNAKESKIN! I hesitated purchasing at first because it's sized S and the slits (on either side) make it seem very dated to me.  But it was half-price, and for $1.50, I really couldn't go wrong. 

Like my leg-bombing photo? I was feeling very (ok, half-way) Jolie.  ♥

  18. I think you found a winner, I like it a lot! Too bad on the H&M dress as the price makes it a steal, too, but honestly I'm not huge on the whole faux-wrap thing anyway. While both your inspirations are gorgeous, I like your take even better!

  46. Dear God am I that behind in blog reading? Double whammy of a holiday and a death in the family. If you can't find any of these pieces at some point in the future, don't come looking for them in my closet, okay? Because I definitely didn't take them. You know I got the snakeskin dress because of Bessie's post? It didn't work the same on me either. I ended up having to pin the front closed, and eventually sewed it shut.
