Sorry for the confusion. My bangs are definitely choppity chopped, (here's the proof!) but I have a backlog of outfits I haven't blogged about yet. I'm still getting used to my shorter bangs, and getting ready in the morning is definitely more of a challenge for me now because I my bangs stick out a lot and have to be straightened. (I know, my life is sooooo hard) To give you a taste of my new hair in outfit form, I sent these photos to the front of the blogging queue, but you'll still see some outfits from when the bangs were non-existent.

Though I'm liking the blunt bangs so far, I have to admit, I'm at a loss for hairstyles right now. I also totally think that my huge, round Asian face is made even more round and huge by the framing of the bangs. Sometimes I think I look like a mooncake,  then I remind myself that mooncakes are delicious (and, by logic, so is my face. Right?)

  1. I love your hair! I actually think your face looks very oval-y and not at all like a mooncake (which I'd never heard of, but they look delish)

  2. You look smashing with bangs and you certainly pull them off with the glasses too.

  7. I like the bangs! You could do a high bun with bangs! Or, if you got sick of them, you could pull them back into a poof. So many options. Also, yay for more black and pink.

  8. You crack me up. Mooncake face? Who thinks of that stuff...although I thought the same thing about myself ..haha. Blunt bangs are tough to manage but it looks great on you. I've thought about it, but I don't have the guts to do it...haven't had it since I had a bowl cut circa 1984.

  9. Yayay, I love your new bangs! I'm feeling totally the same way- I've never had bangs before I got my hair done a couple of weeks ago, so learning how to deal with them has been interesting! I also have to straighten mine every morning and I've pretty much only worn my hair down or pulled back into a low ponytail. If you find any fun hair tutorials to try with your bangs, I'd love to know too! =)

  10. I like your bangs! I feel like I'm at loss of hairstyles as well. My hair is at that weird length right now! Anyways, I love your magenta tights! So cute

  11. I'll say it again...so jealous! I love the bangs:) I feel your pain..haha...getting my to straighten and even lay in a side swept is rough at times. I definitely feel like they make headbands and hair scarves look much cuter though.

Your scarf rocks...can I say that? I love the contrast of it against the black and those magenta tights. Ooh la la!

  12. love the hair! i def understand the less-than-thin asian face issue. esp day when my hair looks like crap i see a mirror and go whooa wide cheeks. but you know what? we are damn cute. everyone else just needs to accept it.

oh and also about the hair.. do you know how to do french braids? your hair is the perfect length to do fancy loopy braids and all that and the bangs will add a little something

  19. Um... I love the bangs. Yes you face may look more 'round' but in a totally adorable way. I think if anything you should make them a bit thicker.
    Also, love the tights.

  21. Mooncakes are indeed delicious but I don't think you look like a mooncake your so silly lol. Like the other have said you could try pulling it up or braiding it you might like the bangs better if you try those out.

  25. Bangin' hair cut ;) I've been toying with the idea of blunt bangs for a while but having had them before they're pretty high maintenance but look oh so good! I also love your scarf and the frilliness of the skirt!

  26. The mooncake is the reason why I don't have bangs. That and because my forehead is tiny tiny tiny. I think I already said this, but the bangs are banging.

  27. You look bangin', yes, I'm a total cheeseball. I've been contemplating getting bangs for the first time since elementary school, I have a round face myself. I love the shoes, scarf, and purse. I've never had a mooncake, I need to try one.

  28. I think your face is oval enough for blunt bangs. I love them but can't do them myself... they look awful. Seriously, you think you look like a mooncake? No. Just no.

I think I'm going to call this outfit secretary punk. Secretary for the glasses and bangs, punk for the bag, shoes, and almost monochrome. And I love love how pink these tights are. Why don't my pink tights look this pink?

  29. aww, laura! you look great with bangs! and i'm sure you'll find some hairstyles to compliment them in no time. sometimes a simple pony tail does the trick. so, i had blunt bangs for the first 16 years of my life. every so often i toy with the idea of choppin' 'em in again...

  30. Or would that be chopping them out? Whatev! ;)

  31. You look cute with your new bangs - it does make you look young in a flattering way!! You should let your hair down more often! Is it me or has it grown?!

  32. Your new bangs look amazing Laura! I think you look really good and definitely cute! No no, I won't associate you with a mooncake in a hundred years. Love the playful pop of pink in this outfit too!
