floral dress, mint jacket: thrifted:: lace top: Rue 21:: floral heels: Forever 21:: bow belt: GAP:: purse: Laura Ashley
One of my co-workers remarked that since she hasn't seen me wear patterns, I must, therefore, be totally scared of them. In retaliation (because to me, it's all a game of "I'll show you") I threw this outfit on. In my head, it totally works, but to my eyes it seems like I'm overcompensating for not having pattern-wearing guts.
In other news...
How are you guys (by guys I mean, readers, of course) doing? I feel like I haven't been a good blog reader lately, so I just wanna check in and hope that you all are dandy. Nothing new going on with moi. I've been toying with the idea of making a video/vlog soon, but have the following problems impeding me from going through with it:
1. I mumble.
2. I have no clue how to edit videos.
3. I mumble.
4. I have to clean an area of my house to shoot the video in.
5. CAKE.
Ok, #5 is not really a problem, more like a daydream. Though, wouldn't it be marvelous if I had a ginormous cake blocking most of my living room? Ant problem, sure, but it would be a delicious problem that's fo sho.
I love your outfit! The patterns on the skirt is really cute. And your bow belt! How adorable! You really can whip up an outfit together. I'm sure you go around saying CHALLENGE ACCEPTED when it comes to fashion! :D
You show her! lol I've thought about doing videos but in the end I'm too shy for all that plus I hear editing is a pain. I think you would do great videos your posts are always so fun to read and energetic! I'm sure you could translate that into a video :)
Lovely! The bow is adorable! I totally think you should vlog, it doesn't matter about the mumbling and cakes.. vlogs just show so much more than a picture ever could! It really makes me feel like I know the person better :)
Those glasses are so much fun! Also that TOTALLY sounds like a challenge to me you should wear ALL your prints. I wish I could give you some video making tips, but I just use that Macbook application that is super simple to load your videos into.
:) I only really wear patterns that are floral or leopard print! I love your shoes! I think it all goes really well, esp your belt/glasses/hair/bag being your black statements! Oh I sound all fancy and like I know about fashion! :) I love the idea of a video! I always wonder what my fav bloggers sound like! :) Zoë xxx
Cute outfit. Not overcompensating, but fashionable. Love the thrifted mint jacket! Go for the Vlog- with or without mumbling we'll still watch it!! Sige na! hehe
I often over do it with color and pattern. But if you felt fabulous - who cares if you wear no pattern or all of them! I love your green jacket and fab printed dress.
Laura, I confess, I'm not a wearer of pattern. I really don't believe I can pull them off and I don't think I'd have the courage to try pattern mixing! I would love to see a vlog produced by you! How wonderful to hear your voice and see you in front of the camera. Go for it! Your public awaits! :)
I also have similar issues with #2 and #4 (and I love #5) but I would love to hear your voice-you should go for it! What a stunning thrifted mint jacket- just beautiful and I think you nailed the pattern mixing!
I love your mint cardi. You are so pretty. Following, and looking forward to future posts! By the way I'm hosting a contest so definitely check it out, one more day to enter!!! http://tinyurl.com/lilithscontest xo Lilithfashion.blogspot.com
Eat cake while shooting the video. ...Probably won't help with mumbling, but will be delicious. I love the green on you! I thought you were "overcompensating" for your dark colors. It looks like lime sorbet.
Wow, I uber love that belt! And the whole outfit as a matter of fact! I'm so obsessed with mint right now! -Jaz http://www.fluffyfashioncents.blogspot.com
Look at you rocking the colors/patterns. The only black here is in the bow! Vlog's...goodness. Honestly, I'm not that big a fan of vlogs. Weird right? I'm weird. I know. :D I'm ok with that. I wonder what other challenges your co-workers will come up for you now lol.
I like this outfit and its mix of colors and patterns, I love the print of the dress and seriously, how can one ever go wrong with a bow belt? I would definitely watch your vlog if you decide to do one. I tried recording a vlog awhile back and could not do it, I was entirely too nervous. Cake is a good daydream... mmm, cake.
Lot of people have been blogging about the same thing Laura...they've been too busy, not really have had the time, not really feeling motivated to visit blogs let alone write a post. You are not alone! Patterns are still not the easiest thing for me to work with and textures are just as difficult. I think you did a great job working with the ideas here!
The mint jacket is such a gorgeous colour :) I love the bow belt too! I know what you mean, I have lots I want to blog about but not finding the time to get it done, hoping to have a big catch up over the next couple of days!
I actually think this is one of your cutest outfits to date. Doesn't look like you're trying to hard at all. I love it. You are gorgeous.
VLOG!! Please. I don't edit mine at all. It's one take and then it's uploaded. I have no skillz, girl. So, do what I do. Wing it and upload it. I'm sure it will be fabulous. Cuz you're fab!
This is such a lovely mix of patterns and fabrics! Love it laura! Omg, please do a vlog! It'll be so cool, like to see you almost real life! Looking forward!
That is so, so cute look! I adore that cardigan, the color is so fresh :) And I love that you're rocking patterns, it's amazing on you :) I would love it if you made a video, but I understand it feels hard - it's the same with me. :) Though maybe I'll someday do a video or few because my lovely fiance just bought a high quality webcam... ;) xoxo ♥
