For some odd reason, I am always drawn to ruffles. The attraction is soooo ridiculous that I consciously have to stop myself every time I see something with ruffles because if not, I would have a closet full of ruffly clothing. And that wouldn't be very flattering. 

            ...(<-- stands for a pause of about 20 minutes)

Ok. I lost my train of thought. I finally got my mitts on Season One of "Meerkat Manor" and I HAVE to watch it now. I mean, c'mon. There's a meerkat named Shakespeare. And Samwise Gamgee is narrating it. Must stop blogging for now.

  4. I spied a top in Burlington that had ruffles that went up and down, didn't suit me at all but it looked so nice on the hanger. Which sucks! I love these ruffles on your top, i'm somewhat jealous of that colour too.

  6. My mom got totally obsessed with Meerkat Manor at one point. I think it was like a year or two ago I even "adopted" a meerkat for her (it's one of those things where you sponsor one an they send you a tshirt for your donation) I totally blame The Lion King/Timon, lol.

    Ruffles are definitely awesome. Don't even get me started when they're combined with lace. I lose all willpower.

  20. I'm not so drawn in by ruffles but lots of pleats! I even wore a prom dress that was a gown style with pleats all over instead of those huge cupcake dresses everyone else was wearing.

  22. Haha, I haven't actually watched Meerkat Manor but I've heard it's good. I usually don't watch shows based around real animals because if something bad happens to them I pretty much end up having a nervous breakdown...

    Anywho, my crazy admissions aside, I love your top and those pink shoes! You look gorgeous.

  24. I love ruffles, but I can't seem do pull it off. You do it very nicely Laura. I love the necklace. My Mom bought my sister and I our necklaces when were in the Philippines. Strangely I was thinking about it today and how I really should wear it more often.

  30. The layered top is the star of the outfit but I really love how you went light with the shoes. I always feel like a parade float when I wear ruffles. If I can look as good as you do wearing them though, I'll totally start buying more.

  36. I have a hard time with ruffles (though I do think they're lovely). I've always really liked those Victorian and prairie inspired tops with ruffly jabot collars, but always feel like a big goof when I wear them. You, on the other hand, do not look like a goof in your ruffles. It seems as though I have to take all further ruffle cues from you! :)

    Aw, Meerkat Manor! I was definitely a fan of that show. One of our little kittens stands up on her hind legs sometimes and looks just like a meerkat (especially if she's whipping her head from side to side)!

  40. Just had to google "Meerkat Manor" -- how had I NOT heard about that?! People are even more meerkat crazy here in the UK -- you see many a stuffed meerkat animal at cutsy shops.
    Ruffles -- I'm so the same way. But I own very few not only for the unflattering qualities (hey, that blouse looks great on you btw -- not unflattering at all) but I find it makes me look younger too. I've been mistaken for a high schooler when I go too girly. I'm like "look at the forehead wrinkles, guys! Not just my miniature stature!" That's a mouthful to say every time I wear ruffly things.

  43. it's hard to resist ruffles...they are just so pretty. This is a lovely feminine look, a little different from your usual fun and cute outfits. A simple string of pearls are just the right amount of accessory for this look and the shoes are really gorgeous!
