Bella had this wonderful idea of sharing a glimpse of her beautiful neighborhood. Here's mine. Not as gorgeous, lush or interesting as hers, but pretty nonetheless. I apologize for the graininess of my photos. I only had my iPod with me at the time, and this is best it could do.

As you can probably already infer, I live in an older neighborhood with lots of old houses and large trees. It's a great place to talk a walk even in the heat since there's so much shade, but gardening can be a pain, too, since the weeds here are relentless. A lot of the sidewalks are made with bricks fashioned into lovely patterns, and a lot of houses are covered with ivy.

What kind of neighborhood do you live in?

  1. These are beautiful shots - iPod or not! You live in a pretty area, I'm a bit of a door lover and that red door with the round window is perfection! :-) Cannot beat some ivy-covered loveliness either!

  3. I love those fences and the paths! Our neighborhood isn't much to speak off - it became a city in it's own right after splitting from another in the 1960s and is just bordered by freeways and big chain stores.

  13. I love walking around the neighbourhood- yours has such great character (fab red door and eat your yard- love it!) My neighbourhood is very artsy and granola, lots of independent boutiques, bookstores, cafes and small restauarants- I love it!

  16. Oh, I love your neighborhood. It looks like it has a lot of history and character. My neighborhood is typical suburbia. Brick houses, mailboxes, mostly manicured lawns... That kind of thing. lol

  17. Wao, your neighborhood looks gorgeous! Love how it has an antique feel and has many trees. My neighborhood has lots of buildings so it isn't as pretty, but it does have a couple of gorgeous colorful trees!

  18. You have a beautiful neighborhood, I love the ivy covered houses and sweet fences! My neighborhood would not be this pretty as I live on a busy street chuck full of apt. buildings. I can't wait to have a pretty neighborhood, adding this to our house wishlist :)

  24. What a beautiful set of photos. You have an eye for spotting beauty. I quite like the curved brick (?) sidewalks and unusual fences. I live downtown at the intersection of the touristy heritage-y part of town (with beautiful old buildings and charming courtyards and stone walkways) and a seedy, gritty part with graffiti etc.

  25. You live in my dream neighborhood, I love old neighborhoods, new neighborhoods don't have anywhere near the amount of character that old ones do. My neighborhood is really suburban and boring but luckily we should be moving soon (Thank the Goat Gods)! I love the way ivy looks and that door is so cute!
