lots of cotton

If I'm looking a bit uncomfortable in the photos above, it's because I am. It's humidity season again, folks. And being a gal who likes to layer, summer can be a difficult season for me to love. My solution? Lots of cotton. Cotton top, cotton cardigan cotton skirt. Can't get any breezier than that, yeah?

To escape the scathing heat, my husband and I  headed indoors to a grab a quick lunch at an Irish pub. We sampled their beer and their whisky and noshed on Irish nachos, which were just thinly sliced potatoes topped with Guinness-braised ribs and cheese. I had the delectable seafood chowder that had thick chunks of salmon. Yumness.

And yes, I am definitely changing my hair. I'm still unsure when or how drastic, but there will be a change. It may not be soon, but it will change! :)

  2. Lovely cotton layers, Laura! That's exactly how I would be dressing if I were back in the humidity fug bubble that is known as Atlanta. If it's any inducement, Edinburgh, though right by the sea is too windy to be really humid -- except, you know, when it rains ;)

  23. Ugh, heat. I spent the weekend outside in my uncle's yard and was stripped down to just a sundress and flip flops because anything more was torture. I felt really naked. I like the flowers on your skirt a lot, can't believe I'm still not over floral

  35. I love cotton in muggy weather. I love linen as well for hot humid days. It gets super wrinkly though and I'm allergic to irons so that's not always the best look. I'm loving those wedges with the florals and ruffles. Can't wait to see what you do with your hair. I'm getting all kinds of crazy ideas because your hair is awesome. An ombre effect with red towards the end with bits that frame your face would be all kinds of bad a** super-heroine like stuff. ;)
