the last day of a long weekend

DSC01545DSC01552DSC01546DSC01553DSC01550DSC01548

Today is the last day of my 5-day weekend, and I'm feeling very refreshed. Not ready to go back to work at all tomorrow, but I had a great break. I got a whole lot of crafting done, and I even started a crafting blog where I share my stories about making stuff.

On Sunday, my bestie surprised me by driving down from Chicago, on a whim, to watch The Dark Knight Rises with my husband and me. It was a long, long movie, but well worth it. I wasn't a huge Christopher Nolan-Batman fan until this movie. I thought Batman Begins was boring, The Dark Knight  was unnecessarily long (but with amazing performances), and TDKR was just superb. Don't get me wrong: there were flaws, but the movie was just sooooo good. Tom Hardy was a beast, and Anne Hathaway? She was inspiring. I'd say she's the best Catwoman of all the Catwomen, Eartha Kitt included.

  4. Ooh a crafting blog? I'll have to check that out, I love crafty things even though I'm all thumbs with doing most of those kind of projects!

I love the floral/polka dot combo and your fun jewelry, but I think my favorite is your belt! I just adore birds!

  5. I just love your leaf bracelet, perfect touch for any season but winter, lol. I think I'm going to put DKR on my list to rent when it comes out. I know that's a long time away. Matt and I just don't really do the movie theater thing. Personally I like the ability to pause the movie when I have to pee. TMI?

  8. I swear, you make the best thrifting finds - I love that polka dot top. I'm really excited to see the Dark Knight, I was not a fan of the first movie but loved the second and I'm sure the third will be brilliant.

  14. This is such a cute outfit, I love the combination of polka dots (my favoriteeeee) and florals. I adore the belt too. I wish I wasn't so self conscious about my arms, I'd love to be able to wear short sleeve shirts without having an anxiety attack. I really wish I could go thrift shopping with you, you find the best stuff evers. I'm sorry to hear the long weekend is over, my boyfriend is on vacation for most of the week and I know I'm going to be super bummed when it's time for him to go back to his regular week. I saw The Dark Knight Rises too and really liked it, Anne Hathaway really surprised me, she really was amazing in the role as cat woman.
