I've been busy, busy, busy. I get all sobby and whiny about my current state of unfulfilling underemployment in this post, but I'll keep it short here: I've decided to devote more time to sewing and creating cute stuff for the shop, so I'm just making and making and making these days. And whenever I do make something that I absolutely LOVE, I feel a sense of validation that what I'm doing is good and right for me.
I've been toying with the idea of making clothes to sell, but I won't be comfortable doing so until I at least get a decent dress form. I just finished sewing another skirt and my first ever cardigan ever, and hopefully, after a couple more practices, I can feel more confident about selling them. My perfectionism holds me back a lot, I know, but it's time for a change, and I'm really excited! :)
That's so exciting Laura! I can't wait to see your gorgeous dress creations. This whole outfit is utter perfection between the lace and the polka dots. Very best wishes and happy weekend darling! xo Marisa
ReplyDeleteYour DIY skirt is awesome!!!! My sewing skills suck, so when I see anyone who can make things like this I am in awe. From all of your DIY projects I think you have some serious skill. Heather

Way to go! Keep doing what you love, and everything else will fall into place.
ReplyDeleteThat is exciting! I am a perfectionist too, it causes me great anxiety so I know what you're talking about. It's good to find something to do that makes you happy when you're stuck in a job you don't like, I also know that from experience.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome!! I know you'll do well because all of the things that you show us that you've made are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou look stunning as always, I just adore that skirt! I definitely think you have a talent when it comes to making clothes and anything that you love to do you should do... unless it's illegal, just sayin' haha.

This outfit contains 3 of my favorite things - the color purple, polka dots, and lace. So pretty! Good luck with your new adventure!
ReplyDeleteI love the polka dot and lace combination...the color too!! You look so lovely. I wish I knew how to sew!
ReplyDeleteBig hugs! I think this decision is fabulous. Often in life, things can seem pretty bleh and we can get sucked into sitting around bemoaning the problems without doing something about them. I LOVE that you're refusing to do that and doing something you love. Rockin' the black ;) and who in the world can hate purple? So lovely!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics!!!!! Amazing outfit!!!!!!!!
