Now that I work from home, I spend a lot more time preoccupying myself with ridiculous tasks like coloring my hair. I also am having the hardest time wearing my glasses. Being nearsighted, I only need my specs when I'm driving or watching TV. When I'm sewing or online, I don't need them at all, so my glasses end up in their cases until I need them.
That's caused me some unbelievably painful headaches recently, because my eyes apparently need to calibrate themselves every single time I put my specs on. So, I'm totally forcing myself to wear these things from the moment I step out of bed until I turn in for the night. That, my friends, takes dedication, and I'm not sure I'm adult enough for that.

Haha! I know what you mean. I just got new glasses with progressive lenses and they give me headaches too. I have to be careful I'm looking through the right part. Hopefully I get used to them soon.
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit!
Glad your hair is back to normal!
I love it. You have great blog! <3

Bummer about the glasses situation. I wish they made glasses for driving at night when it's raining. I can't see a thing. This is a great skirt! Heather
ReplyDeleteGlasses can def give you headaches but i do think it's healthier for your vision not to wear them when you don't need to so your eyes don't get too used to them. I wear glasses or contacts from the start of the day to the end so I wouldn't know how it feels to wear them on and off o_o
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit and your look!
Good luck with the glasses -- I actually have the same problem and it drives me batty! On a happier note, you look amazing in that blazer and I love the touch of sparkle.

Totally know what you mean with the glasses. I'm farsighted, so always need -something-. I bounce back and forth between glasses and contacts, though. My doctor made my glasses a stronger prescription than my contacts figuring I typically just wear them around the house at night and she's trying to get both my eyes back to the same prescription or something.I've been wearing my glasses out during the day more often, though, and it makes my brain all 'splodey. They're so cute, though, and sometimes they are just needed to make an outfit work.
ReplyDeleteI've been wearing specs since I was 7 years old and I didn't fully give into wearing them all the time until I was 9 or 10. (Just realized she's been wearing glasses for 20 years -ack) Glasses and even safety glasses can change your vision over time even if you wear them for only short periods of time and result in needing to wear them more often. It happened to my father in law after wearing safety glasses for over 30 years as an electrician and my husband, who is in the same field, is experiencing the same thing now after doing it for almost 12 years.
ReplyDeleteI have to wear my glasses at all times too. I am nearsighted so I dont need them for like reading books and such but I get terrible headaches if I dont wear them for awhile. Being an adult really blows sometimes.
ReplyDeleteBummer about the glasses, but the good part is, they look cute on you!
ReplyDeleteLove the sparkle in your skirt!
You look so glam, Laura!
ReplyDeleteAnd glasses, ugh. Sometimes I just really, really want laser surgery, haha. How awesome would it be to be able to see at all times??? Even when you wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. Then maybe I wouldn't trip over the dog. ._.
That's the fun part of temporary hair color though, it can always be fixed! Either way, your dark color goes great with your glittery skirt and accessories. It's such a glamorous combination! And I hope that the glasses get a little easier!

I totally yelled "glitter!" in my head when I saw your pics. Great look.
ReplyDeleteLUUUVVVVING that skirt Laura! It's sparkly goodness girl! My eyes went straight to it when I saw your post. Purple looks great on you. Sorry the hair color didn't turn out the way you expected, but that's why you tried it. Ya, just never know until you do. One time my eyeglass prescription changed drastically and it took forever for my eyes to adjust to the new ones. If it continues, see your optician. Stay sweet!

love this outfit!
ReplyDeletehow gorgeous is your skirt?! :)
i wear both contacts and glasses but whenever i wear glasses, i don't feel like moving as much. weird, right? ;p
I feel you!! I need glasses up close for reading and the computer, but my distance is perfectly fine. I end up sliding my glasses to the tip of my nose (in true librarian fashion) and occasional headaches from going back and forth!
ReplyDeleteI wear contacts all day so I associate glasses with bedtime so if I wear them all day I feel so tired. LOVE this glittery, shimmery skirt with the blue velvet blazer and your hair looks good no matter what, you're a hair chameleon!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun skirt! I tried dyeing my hair purple many years ago and it didn't come out purplish either. My hair is too dark!
ReplyDeleteAh, the beauty of working at home. We manage our own time, no boss and no annoying office mate to judge us with whatever we wear or do with our hair. Love your skirt, Laura! And Happy Thursday! =)
ReplyDeleteyou look awesome! so relaxed so egdy (don't ask me why I just feel so)

i wish i could be working from home right now...all these so called ridiculous tasks are getting overlooked at the moment...coloring my hair included! i tried plum once, it's a really nice color.

I'm actually jealous that you don't need your glasses for everything... but I totally understand the issue with adjusting headaches. I get that when I get a new pair of glasses.
ReplyDeleteI lack dedication AND eyesight (laptop screen is just a blur without help), so I keep my glasses (or contacts) on every second I'm awake. However, I look funny in photos with them on, so I vainly take them off for photos. You look lovely (as usual) with all your sequins and your glasses! I'm inspired!

I see some glitter and I love it! I tried to dye my hair purple once and it didn't either. I eventually ended up with bleach and red that faded our far too quickly, but it was glorious while it lasted.
ReplyDeletethat sparkly dress is so pretty on you!! Great night shots :D I also find myself glued to the laptop at times lol.
ReplyDeleteYou're so chic ! I love the glitter on the dress and the lovely shoes !!!

Woah, I love the color scheme you have going on here. Love love love those gem tones.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the glasses. I'm also nearsighted, but I find that I get headaches if I wear my glasses for an extended period of time or if I wear them for anything other than driving or watching TV...
