If you've read my blog long enough, you'll notice that I'm not much of an accessory-wearer. I have this inexplicable fear of them, and whenever I venture out to shop, I get kind've overwhelmed. Crazy isn't it? I tried to buy a ton of jewelry off of ebay a few months ago, but I was so disappointed at their quality and the awful metallic smell, that I chucked most of them away and now only save really good pieces. I'm trying to remedy this irrational fear by just getting used to wearing and mixing the stuff I already have. Small steps.
The colour of your skirt and those wedges are perfect. I really dig this look :D
ReplyDeletePretty skirt. And I understand your reluctance to embrace jewelry. For the longest time, I just didn't know how to incorporate it into my outfits. That's improving with experimentation, but only after many mistakes. Do whatever feels right for you.
ReplyDeleteI think there's something to be said for simple accessories...especially when an outfit makes a statement all on its own, as yours always do!

I like accessories, but not in overload. Earrings and a necklace are good for me. I love bracelets and watches but just cannot wear them to work due to being at a computer all day. They drive me crazy! I love this skirt with the white top and that really cool necklace. Heather
ReplyDeleteyou look great Laura! i love the color of your skirt. it's a fabulous green. it has sparkle and punch to it! not your drib drab green. i love the purple skirt you made for me. i just took it out for Fall to wear. will pair it with some tights :) have a great week!

I love the green of this skirt! I'm still not into accessories, at least not as much as I should be.

I'm adoring these photos of you, and love that green skirt. I think I've always loved trims and accessories, however did not used to wear bracelets as much as I do now. I think it's how one styles them, sometimes minimal is just as good for an outfit! xo Have a great week dear./ Madison
ReplyDeleteI dont wear many accessories either. I've only now begun expanding on my jewelry collection, but its still hard to decide whether pieces actually go with my outfit.
ReplyDeleteSimple is always good especially if it works well with an outfit. I only wear a few accessories here and there, sometimes the same thing every day just because!
ReplyDeleteI'm not very good with accessories, but I think you work them in to your outfits in fabulous ways! I do agree about saving up for quality pieces and not indulging too much in cheap, shoddy pieces.
ReplyDeleteI think the studs on the shirt were just the right amount of accessory already. I'm big on my accessories, but I'm also the kind of person who needs the rule about stopping and taking one thing back off before you leave the house. I overdo like whoa.
ReplyDeleteI don't accessorize either. Lately, I've been into necklaces but it's the only thing I wear.
ReplyDeleteI love the shape of your glasses Laura, they really suit you! Your accessory choices with this outfit look great! :)

i always think you accessorize very nicely, though! :)
ReplyDeletei am kind of the same way, even more so with hair accessories. i have tons of them and never wear anything. lol
very nice outfit. i can see the texture of the shirt as well. and i love your glasses! :)
Oh that awful metallic smell! I'd say, start with the basics, stud earrings, necklace and a watch. After that, you'll start feeling bored then you'll start exploring! That's how it worked for me, one day, a necklace with a pendant didn't cut it anymore and I wanted to buy bigger earrings and chunkier necklaces. :)

I know what you mean about that awful metallic smell, it's enough to make me gag!
ReplyDeleteHello darling, long time no chat I hope you are doing well. I love the green skirt and yes some metallics do leave an awkward odor.
ReplyDeleteLove that green skirt!!! so pretty!!! x
ReplyDeleteI always love how you accessorize though! Ebay is so hit or miss. I recently purchased a "1960s" vintage dress for myself and when it arrived, it was clearly a cheap 80s rip-off and had a hole on it too boot. Darn Ebay. I am gushing over that skirt. The color is beyond perfect! xo Marisa
ReplyDeleteLove your green skirt and that super cool chain necklace. Hope your week is off to a sweet start!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog dear! Check out mine:)!

I get where you are coming from with the jewelry fobia. But you always look fantastic with the accessories you choose. Maybe you don't have a bunch, but the ones you do have are fantastic! I'm really loving your pink glasses btw ;)

that skirt is great - i love the color you chose. if you are going to throw on something easy and simple, why not something with a great color?
ReplyDeletei am an accessories addict. keep working at it, you'll get there ;)
Chic on the Cheap
I really love the color of your skirt, Laura. Like you, I don't wear any accessories or if I do, I wear them less. Not so much of a fan but I do like seeing them on other people.
ReplyDeletei really do love this skirt. the color is fun. great even with a plain white tee like this!

i love my accessories. i don't own any real stuff, other than my great-great granny's ruby ring.
ReplyDeleteAccessories can be kind of intimidating. Goodness knows I have more than my fair share of things just sitting around collecting dust. I like them and all, but learning how to incorporate them into outfits can sometimes take awhile.
ReplyDeleteI really like this outfit. Even though I can't see them, the little silver studs on your t-shirt sound great. Texture and fun all in one, hehe :)
It's so funny, Laura, because I always think of you as a great accesorizer! I understand the fear of them at the same time though -- I always end of liking pieces standing alone, but once I slap it on my wrist or neck I feel like I look Picasso-y. You most definitely don't. And I LOVE the green of your skirt -- and the skirt itself will never get old.
