Today, it rained. And so I stayed indoors and wished it was still the weekend because I had a blast of a time playing boardgames with my former grad school buddies until 3am last Friday. If you follow me on Instagram, you'll have already seen the games we played: Sword and Skull, Pandemic, Samurai, and Dune. I was particularly fond of Pandemic since I love cooperative games (where all the players play against the game) that require competent and strategical players.

But back to the rain. My husband and I recently had a conversation about it, and he confessed that he is sort of enamored by the rain. It soothes him. It makes things quiet and pretty. He wouldn't mind moving to a place where it constantly rains. I, however, rage against precipitation. I grew up in the Land of Typhoons, where rain was an (almost) everyday occurrence between June and March. Seriously.

I will say, though, that naps are much better when it's raining. As is soup.

  4. I'm a rain lover myself...I do find it soothing as well. To each their own I guess! And this is such a cute rainy day outfit, it's sort of evocative of rain itself.

  5. it all depends, i guess. what you have to do or who you are with, etc. i am not a rain lover, but i love sitting in a car listening to music when it rains. i have to be with a right person, though.

i am madly in love with your tights, btw. ;)

  6. Rain can be both, I think. Soothing, or just tiresome. I don't really mind it so much until I have to walk the dog in it for months straight... ;)

I've heard great things about Pandemic! We need to pick up more board games. Right now we only have two versions of Ticket to Ride, Scrabble, and a few other games.

I like the in between of rain and heat...wherever that is.

  9. Hi Laura! Your jacket is such a beautiful, refreshing shade of green. And the green streaks through your hair! Amazing. I don't mind the rain; especially when I'm inside in my pajamas, under the blankets, with my favourite book :D

  10. I love rain at night when I am cuddled in my bed since it's soothing, other than that I am with you not wanting it to rain.

Loving your green tights! They are so fun paired with your dress and great boots.

  11. My husband loves the rain too! He'd be really happy living in Seattle or something like that, but this girl needs her sunshine on occasion!

I do like a good nap in the rain though!

Love the colors - the greens are so fun!

  14. I have a love/hate relationship with rain. I love it as long as I dont have any plans for the day but if I have to go outside for any reason then the rain puts me in the worst mood.

  19. Love these colors! I'm loving your hair too:)

The rain has just started here. It's always hard to adjust to it after a beautiful and sunny summer, but it does bring with it a sense of coziness.

  20. I would gladly take rain over the warmth we've gotten again in my area. Loving the blue dress. It looks perfect for the weather I'm having here in the south.

  21. There's even a storm here in Cebu. I hate it when it rains. Stops me from running. Makes me want to curl up in bed.

  23. I believe your hubs and Scotland are a match made in Heaven... the soggy version of heaven, that is. We also seem to do soup pretty well, so you wouldn't have to rage on an empty belly. Lurve the tights (and all the greeeeen)!!!
