who's that girl?

Like Angela Chase, I felt like my hair was holding me back. I'm kidding. Don't expect me to be blogging about late night raves in a skating rink or any kind of angst that I may be bottling up. I'm still the same Laura who likes to read comic, dork out in front of the TV, and craft up a storm.

In truth, I've been wanting to dye my hair for a very long time now, but having a job where I have to look "normal" hindered that dream. And colored hair requires a lot of maintenance, even more maintenance if it's an unnatural color.

I chose this teal-ish blue green for the simple reason that I've never had teal-ish blue green hair before. Pink will always be my first choice, but for now, I am really quite digging this cool hue. Speaking of cool hues, like my new Jellypop Jovan heels? These are my firstest Jellypop shoes ever, and I am impressed at how comfortable they are! Seriously, I walked all day in these pups, and it was like walking on marshmallows.

  2. Now I have that song in my head, haha! Your hair looks great. I so wish I could do this, but work keeps me from it, boo! The greenish/blue was a great pick for a fun color. Your new hair matches that great blazer. Heather

  16. I LOVE the teal. I used to dye my hair all kinds of weird colors when I taught public elementary school. The kids loved and so did the parents but I'm going to private schools now I have to look a little more normal with my hair a natural color and the tattoos covered up.

  17. Lady, I love your hair like this! The teal is perfect for your dark hair. You see, this is why I have to visit your blog. I would never be as fashion adventurous as you are. Hence, the reason for my living vicariously through you! By the way, how soon can we see a close up of those pretty shoes? :)

  24. This whole look is beyond fabulous. I'm in love with it all. And that color you chose for your hair is fantastic! I'm working on lightening some of the length on mine from the underside. Once I get tired of that, I'm totally thinking this might be the next stop for me thanks to this look on you.

  29. I'd love to dye my hair but the maintenance is gonna kill me. I pretty much don't spend too much time or attention to my hair. I only do on outfit shots. I like it messy sometimes. Now it's too messy and a bit dry. =(

  30. Love the new hair, Laura! I've always been scared of dying mine because I'm not so good in the beauty department. My hair will have to live vicariously through your blog posts.
Also, yes, those shoes are out of this world awesome and I can't believe they feel like marshmallows. I must go try to get a pair at TK Maxx (yeah, it's T K Maxx here, weird isn't it?).
Hope you are having a wonderful week!

  31. I think this color looks really good! It's kind of subtle, but it's definitely still *there*. This blazer rocks, too-- I want blue velvet in my life!

  32. I love your hair! I'm with you about dying my hair, I've always had jobs that did not allow extreme colors/looks - I even got a hard time when I dyed it red for the first time. I love this outfit, those shoes are really pretty and I'm still adoring that blue velvet blazer.
