I'm knee deep reading The Little Book of Heartbreak by Meghan Laslocky, and I can't seem to think about anything else but finishing it. So, this outfit? Yeah. Skulls. Crosses. Black. Red. Done. Please excuse me while I go back to my
I love this book because it's got a little bit of everything: Abelard and Heloise, love potions and magic, Ernest Hemingway, and even Morrissey. If you like reading stories about love throughout the ages with all its aches and pains told in the most hilarious and witty of ways, please check this gem of a book out.
Tell me: what books are you reading right now?
I love it when I find a book and can't put it down. I will definitely check this out since I have been in a reading slump lately. Maybe this will recharge my batteries.
ReplyDeleteLoving your skull and crossbones paired with the red. A perfect combo! Heather
Oooh, the book sounds awesome! I'm currently reading a book called The Gates of Hell about the Franklin Arctic expedition (I'm hooked).

I'm about ten years behind in some of my reading, so right now I'm reading The Time Traveler's Wife. I love reading a book that is hard to put down!
ReplyDeletei love your top! you look stunning, your hair is awesome! xx
ReplyDeleteLetters To Juliet
I'm currently reading Returning to Earth by Jim Harrison- I found it in a thrift store, and I was intrigued. It has already made me cry, and I'm about halfway through it, but I am really enjoying it so far. That skull top is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteSkulls - love them on you but I can't rock them :) I lack time to read although I love to. . a good book is addictive and hard to put down!
ReplyDeleteRed Soles and Red Wine
I just finished a book called Serena about a couple living in the mountains of North Carolina in the 20s, but I did not really like it. Now I'm about to start Where'd you go Bernadette? and I'm really excited because I've heard nothing but good things!
ReplyDeleteThere's something timeless about skulls, black, white, and red. It just works and shouldn't be messed with. Lately I've been rifling my way through the .50 bookshelves at Goodwill searching and have been loving some of my finds. There's nothing like curling up with a good book after a long day.
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to finish Emma for the longest time. Love the red denim and skull/cross top on you, Laura!
ReplyDeleteDid you say Morrissey?! I need to dust off that CD!!
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm reading a book of fairytale reinterpretations called "My Mother She Killed Me, My Father He Ate Me." It's... interesting. I've really enjoyed several of the stories, but there were a few that I just found confusing and/or really unnecessarily perverse.
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading Columbine, which was sad but really interesting.
ReplyDeleteSkulls, black, and red are forever!I need to check out this book, I've been slacking on my reading list.

Hah, I love that feeling when you have a book so good you can't put it down! The last books that I couldn't out down was Bernard Cornwell's Arthur series. (It was fantastic, one of the best takes on King Arthur that I've read.) I'm really bad about reading four or more books at once, I'm trying to finish re-reading the Ender series and then I've got a collection of T.S Elliot's poems and a book about the Johnstown flood. Your book sound so interesting, I'm going to Barns and Noble later this week so I'll have to look for it, I'm always excited to hear what books other people recommend!
ReplyDeleteAnything with skulls prints is flippin' awesome, this sweater is the best. (They're happy looking skulls!) But I think it's your adorable bow wedges that do it for me, those are so sweet and I love them paired with the sweater. :)
That book looks so interesting! I might have to pick it up after I'm done reading The Trial. I'm loving the red pants! I need to get myself a pair too!

ReplyDeleteOh I love moments like that, being so engrossed in a good book. Right now I just got Crown Duel, I've heard mixed reviews but we'll see. Love the skull and cross top.
ReplyDeleteThe book sounds awesome! Just like your outfit!
ReplyDeleteI love when you find a book (or series) that completely sucks you in! red pants, can't ever go wrong with them!
ReplyDeleteYour hair is so green and fabulous! That book sounds good so it's going on the goodreads list. I just finished Set This House in Order by Matt Ruff. It's about 2 people with multiple personality and how they deal with it and live their lives. Really interesting and well written. Stayed up until 3am last night reading!
ReplyDeleteI'm reading a book about griffins...The Land of Burning Sands, which is the second in a trilogy. I read Equus before that, which was intense, but such a well-crafted play. My favorite book last year was The Night Circus, and I haven't found anything recently that is as good.
ReplyDeleteCute outfit, love the pop colour with the red pants :)
ReplyDeleteI'm currently reading the third installment in the Rain Wild Chronicles (Robin Hobb) and I can't get enough. I find that with a book I love I almost want to read it slowly do I can savour it a bit more haha, weird I know!
And now I have to wait till March when she releases the final one *crys*
