Daynightmares

For these headless pictures, you are welcome. Winter precipitation definitely means I don't even bother with making my face or hair decent. Additionally, I did wear a big coat over everything and had my head under a hood the entire time I was out anyway, so I need documented proof that I wore these pieces of clothing together.

I acquired this chunky infinity cowl a couple moons ago and have been wearing it constantly. If I could knit, I would have many colors of this same scarf. Swearsies. Oh, and I wore jeans. WHAT? I know, it was too cold and slippery, and I was having daynightmares of slipping and falling on my ass. Well, in case that happened, I didn't want a cold, bare butt, so jeans were (reluctantly, though sensibly) put on.

  1. I could easily spend all winter living in cowls and chunky scarves. For reals.

  2. haha...I feel ya on that! After having a second kid, I never bother with my hair anymore...always hats because I feel like I'd rather spend time on making my face look good first! Such a classic and all around pretty look Laura. I keep thinking I need a jacket like that...it really pulls any outfit together quite beautifully.

  4. Love that top - back in the UK it gets so icy that I was often falling on my butt, especially on the way to high school which was on the top of a very big hill. Those were not fun times!

  5. Haha, I live in jeans ;) That cowl is super cute! I've never knitted one before (just scarves), but as soon as I get some squishy yarn I want to try!

  7. The jeans are what surprised me. I like them a lot, but I was not ready to see you in jeans! haha. I loooove that top with that coat. Very hard and soft. so chic as always, even when trying not to fall in the slush.

  9. thank you, Marisa! I totally cannot be bothered with doing whatever to my hair. I'd cut it short if I looked good with short hair!

  12. I thought it looked a little kiddie because of the cut, but I guess over a low cut tank it could be sexy! ;)

  21. You are so much more hardy and brave than me. I'm such a wuss. I could never look that good in snow. I wear layers. So many layers. And it's not even snowing here. I don't even have an excuse like that. And my gloves - they're smart wool. I look like a wooly mammoth that has risen from extinction; a big multi-colored fur ball, rolling down the pavement at peopl with her white furry ear muffs. Thank goodness there are people like you that we can all appreciate looking at more than that.
I bet you could learn to knit in a heart beat. You're so talented.

Gah, I just looked at your outfit again and feel even more shame about the way I brave the cold. lol. You're so cute. I realized you're wearing a really stylish jacket and I thought of the sweater I pile on top of my shirt, then the fleece, then the waterproof outerlayer...and then I kick myself if I don't wear a scarf. Keep looking pretty; it's like a public service for people. :)

  22. Looking really cute here Laura, those polka dots definitely brightens up any gloomy winter days! hoho, I wear a lot of jeans in winter, until it gets toooo cold, then I'll just give up on style and go with my trusty but really bulky ski pants.

  27. Thanks! Seriously, my jeans only get pulled out of my closet when it's gross outside!

  28. I am the most impractical dresser, Rachel! Seriously, sometimes I wonder what's wrong with me expecially when I KNOW it's freeeezing outside and all I wear on my legs are thin tights. I actually DO have wool mittens (sock monkey ones!) but they make me even more inept at doing anything hand related, so I tend to keep them in my purse.

  29. Thanks!!! You know, I never got to the point of wearing ski pants even when I was living in Alaska... I guess I just got used to the cold after a while! :)
