Josie Fever

Usually, when I like a product, I end up trying other items from the line. I first tried Josie Maran's Argan oil last year when I got a teeny bottle from an Ipsy bag, and I recall really liking how moisturizing yet lightweight it was. I used it as my moisturizer and it didn't break me out and made my skin feel super soft. After I finished the bottle, I thought of repurchasing it again but really didn't have the money to spare at the time. I mean, it was either craft supplies or a bottle of moisturizer at the time, so I forgot about Josie Maran for a long time.
Then over the holidays, I picked up a small bottle of 100% Pure Argan Oil  for convenient travel use and also to stick in my purse for quick hydration purposes. I fell in love again, and now I use it everyday as my day and night moisturizer. I usually use 3-5 drops after washing my face, lightly work it on my skin using a circular motion, and then wait for my skin to absorb it before putting on my sunscreen. It's instantly moisturizing but doesn't feel greasy or heavy at all. I've noticed my blemishes looking lighter and less red ever since I started using it everyday.
Shortly after I was reunited with Josie, I purchased this mini set of Whipped Argan oil with Radiance, since I wanted to try their hair and body oils. And for $10, you can't really go wrong, right? The set comes with a body butter, hair serum, and oil all with "radiance" with looks like teeeeeeny gold flecks giving the illusion of sunkissed skin. The smell is a combo of honey, lavender, and chamomile, which sometimes makes me gag, but at other times is super soothing. I think it all depends on my mood, seriously.
I like using these products sparingly because the odor can be a little strong at times for me. I've definitely used the hair oil more though, especially on the ends of my hair to give it a little bit more shine. The whipped Argan oil butter is thick and makes me look somewhat tan, so a little goes a very loooong way.
Lastly, I picked up these Bear Naked wipes since I was running out of Ultrabland and really wanted to switch to a more convenient way of removing my makeup (read: less steps.) These wipes smell so refreshing and leave my face feeling very clean. However, I find that they leave a stinging sensation in my lids after even gently wiping off my eye makeup. Unfortunate, but these won't be repurchased.

Have you tried Josie Maran products?

  1. Never used these products before, but they sound great, shame about the wipes though, I don't like when my skin is left stinging, especially my eyes as it usually leads to them stinging for ages and then watering like mad, which only repeats the whole annoyance, ha!! xx

  4. I think Josie was my first foray into argan oil, too, but now I use Shea Terra Organics, which is more affordable for me :D http://www.drugstore.com/shea-terra-organics-100-pure-moroccan-argan-oil-certified-organic/qxp472027?catid=182946

  5. The wipes seem interesting, but I have a terrible time with makeup wipes making my eyes sting so I really am not going to want to try one if someone else has that issue. Plus when I wear makeup, I wear so much that I feel like I have to scrub too much with wipes. It doesn't really come out as being any more convenient, lol

  7. I really wanna try that radiance stuff! It seems like it would be a great base to use under my makeup. The product I am using now is called "wonder under" and it is wayyy too sparkly.

  11. I thinki should. I'm currently thinking about new products for me and your review right in time.
P.S. for it works the same - if don't repurchase at ones, it might take some time to remember that brand or at least that product

  12. Hmmmm the tiny gold flecks in the products have me intrigued. Do you feel like you hair gets dirty faster when using the oil?

I haven't tried Josie Maran. I'm starting to worry a little bit. I'm starting to run low on my foundation. It means picking a whole new one. I want something with magical properties that make my gianormous pores invisible yet makes it look like I'm not wearing anything on my skin. It'd be even more perfect if it could make my skin look like it has a youthful dewy glow. Know anything like that? :D

  13. I have used Josie Maran "Argan Oil," which is a great product, but never tried those those wipes. I usually stick to natural body butters, fortunately my sister makes them for us. :) Have a great weekend.

  15. I agree AND lightweight! I hate it when the moisture is accompanied with heaviness!

  17. I had that problem with ultrabland, feeling like I kept on rubbing and rubbing because I used a lot more makeup. And the. I wasted so many paper towels and cotton pads taking it off! I got a couple of makeup remover samples that I'm using while I decide what to get next.

  18. Yeah I don't think these are sparkly, but more "glowy" though it does give me a little bit of a tan look.

  19. I don't feel like my hair gets dirtier quicker... But I use very little and only on my ends. Foundation wise, I wish I could help! I am using Lorac right now which is nothing special, but I set it with loose mineral powder foundation from Mary Kay which is actually blowing my mind! It looks great and is only $18. I haven't broken out and the makeup stays. Pore wise, I don't have anything to recommend but face primer. I've been using Pixi which is affordable and works well.
