Midday Drunk

Even though I still have quite the backlog of photos, it felt weird looking at myself with longer hair and writing about stuff I barely remember. So, I skipped the frustration, and here we are at more familiar times. (In case you didn't know, I have an awful memory)

I wore this outfit at the onset of Spring temps, a couple weeks back when I finally got my shit together and visited the World Chess Hall of Fame since they were having an exhibit of couture gowns (lots of McQueens!) I wasn't able to take any pictures in the museum, but I had a grand old time ogling at dresses. You can see some of them here

After out museum trip, B and I walked around the area, exploring shops and ended up having a whiskey lunch at Gamlin Whiskey House. Let me tell you: I never want to be midday drunk ever again if that means it gets followed by a pounding midday hangover. I'm such a lightweight, I swear.

  2. That exhibit sounds amazing!!!! I want to go there! And, for my money, nothing beats a slight day drunk (provided you don't have anything else to do that day).

  3. I laughed at your blog post title - I've been there! We have hit some taprooms at lunchtime before and then the rest of your day is just...well nap worthy! I love your shorter hair!

  11. I'm totally a lightweight. It's downright comical watching me drink. I'm completely amazed when I see someone nursing a glass of wine or beer and it's not even noon. Drinking is a much more accepted past time in England than I'm used to back in the States. And when I say that it's common and someone's nursing a glass of wine, I mean they're doing their gardening with a glass of wine next to them. That glass never leaves their side through the day. It just keeps being refilled because they make their own wine.

I luuurv mickey mouse, particularly vintage-y looking ones. It makes the warm fuzzy feelings for me. Makes me think of my grandmother, simple happy times, with homemade chocolate chip cookies on golden lazy warm summer afternoons when I had nothing better to do. Your hair is always so gorg. Long or short, it doesn't matter. And that's a fabulous shade of lipstick on you. If you remember what it is, let me know! And know that you're not alone when it comes to a bad memory. I call myself, the girl with the goldfish memory. 3 seconds is as long as I've got. Anything beyond that and "poof" it's gone! I heard once that's how goldfish live. If they're hungry - they've always been hungry for as long as they can remember. lol. That's pretty much me. Makes for a fairly interesting life as an adult. :)

  13. This is a cute look. I totally feel you on being mid-day drunk, I almost always get a hangover when I drink and the longer I can delay a hangover the better. One time I had a drink with tequila, which my body doesn't seem to like, during an early dinner and I was sick the rest of the night. No fun.

  14. I'm a lightweight too. I like day-drinking, but the afternoon hangover sounds awful. On the bright side, Mickey Mouse! Heck yes!

  15. You know, people have given me such a hard time for my lightweightedness and also the fact that I'm not much of a drinker in the first place because they make me gain weight so quickly. But when I do drink, I do with people I like and can be comfy with or when I want to sleep. So yeah, I don't know how I can drink throughout the day and keep awake and functioning!!!

As for the lipstick, it is Quince from Bite Beauty. I am kinda obsessed with the lip pencils/sticks from them! I usually wear Rhubarb which is nude-y, but I like this shade too!

  18. MICKEY! That top is adorable! I'm such a light weight, I don't even really drink at all anymore. I have one or two drinks and I end up feeling nauseous and regretting it!
