Whack

It's that time of the year again, folks. You know-- that time when you feel like you have nothing  to wear because of the weather change. Ever since it went from frigid to boilingly humid in less than a week, I feel that everything in my closet is either too heavy or too dark, which, I feel, is a legitimate reason for me to go buy some spring/summer basics this weekend. Right?

I've already made a list:
- maxi skirts in black + another neutral
- colorful, printed minis
- flat or slight wedge sandals in black+ bright+ another neutral
- loose tees
I'm debating if I need to add thin sweaters to the list since the temperature control in my office is pretty whack. I can never ever figure out whether I should be dressing for a heat wave or a snowpocalypse. It drives me insane. And each time I've decided not to bring a cardigan/jacket just in case is, of course, when the A/C is blasting glacier air. Madness.

  1. Very pretty top, I love the light colours. Your hair is perfect, love this cut on you. The weather is inbetween here at the moment, I have a lot of things to wear when it's hot, but they don't work just now and winter stuff is too heavy, so I've had to do layers, which isn't always fun as every place I go to seems to either be freezing or hot. Haha..I just want summer now :)) Have a gorgeous weekend doll xx

  2. I can't wait to see what you pick up (and I'm crazy about the shoes you're wearing here - they're awesome).

  3. My office is exactly the same way. If I bring a jacket its 77 degrees and if I don't it s like 68. The thermostat is in my office so I don't have any idea how it's so weird. Also, your hair is looking so sleek and cool.

  6. Yup, that's one thing I don't miss about working is the blasting of air conditioning hahaha! You should just keep a light sweater at the office at your desk-that's what I did. Love you in mint!

  8. Not gonna lie, I'm kinda jealz about having any kind of warmth. I know hard core lifer Brits will be all, "What are you talking about?! The weather's been relatively gorgeous here lately!" And I think you know, the sun's been great. But the temp. Sigh. Seriously. I'd be happy if we could just reach 70. I'm loving how chic this outfit looks and you're making it look so effortless!

  9. I think yesterday was the first day I really thought about it being spring, I was wearing a light cardigan and thinking I felt a little warm. Now today I'm back to being all where did my hoodies go because I need them immediately. They're probably all at work because they, too, are huge advocates of creating a polar vortex using the air conditioner. If we had custom heated cubicles and whatever we didn't cost them in heating/AC through the year we got back as a bonus, I would be so rich.

  12. Thank you, Kizzy! So true about just layering-- that seems to be the smart way to dress during this wonky weather!

  13. Isn't B the best shoe gifter? I didn't get any maxis, since after trying on a ton, they just didn't look right on me!

  18. Oh I know. I complain about stupid things, but I'm happy it's warmed up a bit too. Though 80+ and humid makes me soooo very grumpy!

  20. Laura, two things:
    1) You should move to Scotland because you'd never have this dilemma. You need about 1.5 wardrobes. 1 for winter and 1 for slightly less-winter (that would just mean switching out your coat for a jacket). My list for this "summer"? Stop wearing socks. Oh and maaaaybe wearing a skirt without tights, but that's being a wee bit optimistic.
    2) You looks lovely as always and your skin looks ahhhmazing. How do you do it? Have you shared your skincare on here before and I missed it? Gorgeous no matter what the season.

  22. oh Lar, to be in Scotland (or just somewhere in the UK, really) is a dream for me! I love having the idea of a 1.5 closet-- especially since summer isn't really my thang. ;)
Annd my "flawless skin" is really a combo of my camera + makeup, for serious!

  23. The problem isn't the A/C. It's that you've got the clothes on the wrong gender.
